Library Services

The Prairie Wind Elementary Library is a vibrant and welcoming space where students grow as readers, researchers, and lifelong learners. Our goal is to foster a love of reading, support classroom learning, and empower students to think critically, explore new ideas, and connect with the world around them.

We offer a diverse and inclusive collection of books that reflects our students’ interests, cultures, and experiences. From weekly class visits and read-alouds to creative displays and service-learning projects, the library is always buzzing with activity and curiosity.

Fun Facts:

  • Our nonfiction section was recently updated to reflect a more current and relevant collection (from an average year of 2003 to 2017!).
  • Students help with real-world projects—like 3D printing cat toys for the humane society and bookmarks for local seniors.
  • We host regular book giveaways to ensure every student has books to call their own.
  • The ceiling tiles are hand-painted with inspiring book themes to bring stories to life—look up and get inspired!

Whether it’s checking out a favorite book, working on a project, or discovering a new passion, the Prairie Wind Library is a place where imagination and learning come together.

Passwords are needed for home access. Please consult your school librarian or call 531-299-0249 during regular business hours.
