It’s hard to believe that it is time for school to start again. I hope you have had a great summer. I am really enthusiastic about the year ahead and for the chance to work with your child. I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to you.
I am originally from Lakeville, Indiana, where I taught first and second grade students. In 1994, I decided to move to Omaha to attend the University of Nebraska - Omaha. I completed my Master’s Degree in Elementary Education in 1996. Along with attending classes, I also had the opportunity to teach a computer class at the University and to work with many of the professors in the Education Department. I then taught third grade at Lothrop Elementary for three years. I am excited to be at Prairie Wind again this year.
As a teacher of young children, I strive to create an enthusiastic community of learners. I will be observing as the children grow socially, emotionally, physically, and academically, as they engage in a variety of stimulating activities. Together we will be exploring literature through reading and writing workshops, experimenting as scientists, and gaining a broader view of mathematical concepts.
Being a part of the Omaha Public School system you are not required to send any school supplies with your child. If it is possible and you haven’t already done so, please send the following supplies to school with your child. I would appreciate your help with these things.
Whenever sending money with your child, please place it in a sealed envelope with the name of your child on it and our room number (P3).
Please feel free to contact me at school (491-0859) or email (email@example.com) if you have any questions or concerns about your child. I will be looking forward to talking with you soon.
